FAQ

"Miss Jean Louise, stand up. Your father's passin'."

One day Calpurnia brings Scout and Jem to her all-black congregation (the First Purchase African M.E. Church). That's where they meet Lula, a rude racist woman, and they meet the reverend. Scout is surprised because at the all-black Church they do not use books because they cannot afford them.

During the trial, the Reverend saves spots for them and helps them find a seat in the front row of the balcony (with all blacks). He is a kind man.
