FAQ

Mayella is the oldest of the Ewell children. She is ninteen years old. She is lonely and miserable at her home without any friends. She doesn't fit in with the white mould because she lives "among trash", and she can't fit in with the blacks because she is white.

She tries to kiss Tom Robinson, and her father catchs her. They go to trial, as Atticus explains, "to remove her doubt". The state accuses Tom of raping her in a trial.
